Wow GUILDS V3 BETA Multi Language Guild Websites Template & Joomla 1.5
Released Today! Our new Wow V3 BETA Multi Language Guild templates, these new sites are built with Joomla 1.5 and have 9 languages supported in the front end and the admin (back-end) section of the site. The New V3 sites are built on the already very popular V2 sites and add the new ability to easily switch the site into 9 different languages with more languages being added all the time. Here is some information on the new Multi Language Guild Web sites from www.GuildHosting.org Advanced Language Support Joomla 1.5 Wow Guild Websites [V3 Beta] We have pre installed the following languages into our New V3 Wow Guilds Joomla 1.5 sites: English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Netherlands, Norwegian, Portuguese and Russian. Don't see your language? Contact us to see if it is available as new languages are always being added. What does language support mean? This guild site can be set to any language listed above, once set to this language most of the major components will change over to this language also your members can select from any of these available languages and set the site independently of the other main language. This is particularly good when you have a guild with 2 or more of the supported languages spoken by your members. If no language file exists for a given component or module then the default English files will be displayed. What about the Modules? The instant messaging, recent forum posts and events calendar modules change to reflect the new set language, however many of the custom modules for Wow are not translated into these languages, you are able to make new user created modules in your language if you do not like the English versions we have provided. Can I type in my language? Yes you have ALWAYS been able to type in your language inside of our sites only the hard coded text and admin areas could not be translated easily until now. Does this mean my sites text will be automatically translated into this other language? No, what this means is your sites components and admin section will have the ability to be switched into your language. Normally these areas are hard coded and not up-datable easily, this has always been a problem for content managed sites. Since you can type in your language almost anywhere, however the hard coded text was not easily changed or updated. Now you can select the language you want to view your site including the admin section (back-end). What components have language files to match the main sites language? Currently most of the major components we use have the necessary language files, only the awards, comments, Armory Roster, and the donation system do not have translations at this time. All these components will function correctly once the site is set to another language only it will not have the hard coded text translated. Will my forums be in another language and what about the image buttons? Yes the hard coded text in the forums will automatically be changed to the new language however at this time the static images used in the forums only have the following image packs: English, German, Italian and Norwegian. In time we will have all these buttons translated into the corresponding languages. We are looking for members that can assist us with the translations. How will I test This New Site, and Will I lose my main site? We will set-up the new site on a temporary sub domain for you to try this new site first, and then when you are ready we can delete your first site and re-name this one to your real URL. This lets you try the site fully and make sure you are satisfied with its operation before you commit to the new design. Can my V2 Site be updated to this new V3 version? Current customers on V2 sites can update to a new V3 site however the sites are not compatible in any way to each other so it does require a fresh site set-up to move to the new V3 designs. Is there anything missing from the V3 Sites that I might miss? The V3 sites are built on the Joomla 1.5 framework and Part of the problem is the calendar registration system we use was never made for Joomla 1.5 so it will not function in Joomla 1.5 and the worst part about this is this program is it took our programmer over 6 months to get it built and working well. Now it must be completely abandon for Joomla 1.5 as it simply won’t work. All our new Joomla 1.5 sites have a great new calendar system with tool tips and repeating events so as the guild leader you are able to set-up all your raids at once and not have to do this every week. Also our New Calendar system has most of the matching language files so that the calendar will switch to your language. However the registration system for this new system is basic and only allows for member registration it is not able to have specific classes like the other system does. This calendar is great for guilds that use the in-game registration or do not require an elaborate registration system on the website. If you require an advanced registration system on the website then we can install EQDKP Plus as this program has a very good raid calendar system outside of Joomla. In time our programmers will update this new Raid Calendar system with the class specific raid signups. The Automatic Armory Roster Importer needs to be ported to the New Version of Joomla 1.5 and our programmers have begun working on this already we hope to have that component fully functional in the very near future. This component will only be available in English language. Who are the Ideal candidates for testing these new V3 sites? We recommend anyone that does not mind missing a few of the features mentioned above or requires Joomla 1.5 for its language ability. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask, if you would like to help us BETA test these new sites please send us and e-mail requesting you to be added to the BETA testing team for V3 sites. Hello All,
First off let me say that the members response to our latest websites has been outstanding, seems that our new members and old love these new sites and all their features. Since the launch of these new guild sites we have continued to update and move forward with features and requests that have been made by our members. Below I will break down some of these new features and enhancements to our V3 sites. New Raid Calendar System, Attendance, Invites & RSVP’s with Waiting list [V3 sites ONLY] As you may be aware that the new Joomla framework and the old code would not work together so we had to look to a new system that would allow us to build into it the fixes and recommendations from our members and improve what was already good and fix what were some of the short comings of the previous system. While this new system may not be perfect yet I think our members will be very pleased with the direction this new system has gone. Members Requests from the previous Raid System: Reoccurring Events with Registration, while this seems to be an obvious request it is an extremely difficult task to program correctly. Many calendars can do reoccurring events however they are not able to track reoccurring events with registration. This new system is able to do this with ease, now as the guild or raid leader you can set-up the next months of events in few clicks. Allow NON Site Admins to create their own raids and manage their own raids from the front end Yes this is now done. Time stamping for event registration so you know who signed up first Waiting list with soft limits for events set the raid amount to size and your waiting list size. Function Specific Raid Sign up system with ability for members to switch to their alts/other characters in case you need them to bring another class instead of the original registered character and class. New notes section with late indicator, in case one your members may have to be a little late they can easily indicate this here. Now displays your selected website avatar in your registration for all events. We still have a few more updates coming for this new raid calendar system and we will release more information on these updates soon or as they are closer to beta testing, trust me you will love what we have coming for this Joomla 1.5 Boss Progression Module now able to be copied or duplicated Our programmers have just finished the updates for the New Joomla 1.5 boss progression Module; it needed a major overhauling so that it would allow for multiple versions to be created like in previous versions. This update was completed late last week and we have now pushed these updates to all servers. If you are using a V3 site now you can make copies of your Boss Progression modules to better display your guilds raid accomplishments. 5 New V3 videos released April 13, 2010 We have just completed our first series of new videos made special for our V3 websites, if you have one of our V3 sites just head on over to our Video Tutorials section and begin watching these new tutorials. Over the next few weeks we will be making many more videos for these V3 websites so check back often or subscribe to this post so that when we update it you will get an e-mail. New Migrator Tool Now Available when Upgrading We are now able to import the active members list and all forum postings from our previous Joomla sites into the new Joomla framework. To migrate from one of our older sites to the new site will be the same one time charge for a new website set-up. However the ability to transfer the user list and forums is now possible, where in the past if you wanted a new site set-up we were not able to import the data now we can. We hope you enjoy the updates and new features! Guild Hosting Support Team |
